What is a .VMLT file?
A .VMLT file is a type of video file that is used on Sony VAIO computers. It is a format that is created by two programs called Picture Motion Browser (PMB) or Windows Movie Maker (WMM). These programs can change videos from other formats, like .AVI or MPEG, into .VMLT files. To open a .VMLT file, you can use a program called GSpot. This program helps you understand more about the .VMLT file and checks if your computer has the right tools (called codecs) to play the video.
Sometimes, if your computer has problems, like crashing or if something goes wrong when you're updating Windows, you might end up with .VMLT files. This usually happens when the computer can't use the right codec to play your video files in PMB or WMM. When this issue occurs, the video project files are saved in a special folder that has a .VMLT file and a .VMLF file.
It's important to know that .VMLT files are very similar to .VMLF files. If you ever find a .VMLT file on your computer and you're not sure what to do with it, using the GSpot utility can be very helpful. It will tell you about the file and help you figure out if you need to install any codecs to watch the video.
